Dinner Out... NOT!

Friday night. By the time the system clock on my workstation showed a minute past five thirty in the afternoon, I shut down my pc, picked up my stuff, and hurriedly logged out of the office to meet up with Sandy’s mom, whose office was just a few minutes away from ours. It’s officially the weekend. ^_^

I promised Sandy that I’d spend dinner at their place, which is like five minutes away from our house. Good thing it wasn’t pouring during the time I was out of SMART Tower; Manila weather has been annoyingly unpredictable these past few days. I was supposed to meet up with Tita Rose at the lobby of the building where her office was, and by six we were already making our way through Ayala traffic and homeward bound to Cavite. We had a brief stopover at S&R Membership Shopping along Macapagal Highway to buy pizza and some other picas and chips that’s gonna go along with dinner later on. Too bad that by the time we hit Coastal Road, the word ‘traffic’ was a BIG understatement. In other words, we spent the next hour stuck in slow-moving traffic until, thank heavens, we finally arrived at their place around eight thirty. Boy, was I sooo hungry! Later on, I found out that we had other company for the evening – Tita Rose’s other siblings, Kay (Sandy’ cousin), and Uncle F (short for Uncle Francis). They were going to watch the Pacquiao-Hatton rerun on video. So, while they were going ga-ga over Pacquiao as if they were watching a live feed via satellite, the three of us (together with Kay) stayed out into the veranda to have pizza, chips, soda, and ice-cold San Mig Strong Ice. Best thing was, the night sky finally cleared up – a good sign that, at least for the meantime, the rain ceased to pour. Some dinner, eh?

It was a fun and relaxing chillax for the three of us; I was sooo hungry that I helped myself into three huge slices of pizza. Oh, and the San Mig Strong Ice just never disappoints. I would’ve stayed longer, but I had photography class in Manila the next day so I had to refrain from too much of the booze lest I’d sleep off the rest of next morning and miss the workshop. Something tells me that there will be lots more sessions like this to come up soon. It’s really nice to be touching base with Sandy her groovy mom after all these years. I’ve missed my gurl, plus their house has always been something of a second home for me – then and now. ^_^
