It has been two weeks or so since I last picked up on my blog. Admittedly I’ve been so lazy these past few weeks that I barely get anything fruitful done during weekends. (Except if potato couch-ing and DVD reruns count.) In fact, I was so lazy that I missed out watching two of my anticipated movies for the year – Angels and Demons, Night At The Museum 2, and Terminator 3. (Oh-kay, make that three!) Then again, I guess to be lazy these days isn’t at all bad; after all, I’ll be paying up for it for the next Saturdays to come, on a semestral basis, that is.
This week, I got the key to my very own cabinet in – take note – a faculty room. Yup, you read it right. See, for a couple of weeks I’ve been completing the documentary requirements for my upcoming weekend job – a part-time teaching stint at one of the local IT schools in Manila. School opens on the 15th of June, which means my first teaching stint kicks off on the 20th. I’m pretty excited about it, actually, and a little bit tensed. For all I know, this could be Karma’s way of getting back at me for all the pasaway years I’ve spent at the academe. Still, I haven’t been that much of a nuisance to my professors as I look back now. But I admit to having my so-called “class moments” with a few of my professors back in college, especially with those who were not so… uhmm… lenient of my [sort-of] pasaway ways then. Anyway, fast forward to the present and here I am, an IT instructor myself – something I never imagined I’d ventured into. For starters, I’ll be teaching Basic Computer Concepts, and Systems Analysis and Design. It’s gonna be a handful, especially when my class schedule begins at eight in the morning and ends with my fourth class around nine in the evening BUT I'm up for the challenge. *Sigh* I guess it’s goodbye to leisurely Saturdays.
I’d like to believe that I’ve somehow woken up from the so-called hiatus I’ve indulged in these couple of weeks. Some things have been pretty confusing and somewhat distracting lately that I felt like I needed a good deal of Pause mode to buy me some time to think things over, and finally come up with a realization as to what really matters most. Which I did. (Or at least I’d like to believe that I did, haha!) Plus, with all the activities lined up for June and the coming months, there’s hardly room for idle time. And blogging about it is a start. So I guess without further ado, Lissy is now signing [back] on…
